Plate Spinner

Just when I think I'm busier than I ever have been, another things comes up! Someone asked me how I was the other day where we skydive and since he's someone who actually cares I told him I felt like the lady who spins the plates in the circus and tries to keep them all spinning at the same time. I'm not sure what I can do to ease some of this, I'm trying to tie up some loose ends, but they are just staying pesky and there, so I'll just have to get comfy with it.

Eric got his medical back a few weeks ago and so he has been out at the dz much of the time and working siding when he can. He's pretty worn out, but we are both grateful and trying to hang in there, happy to have the work, until the end of the season.
We also decided some time ago to make our relationship more permanent and we set a date for our wedding, September 12, 2009. So I am busy trying to plan a wedding in 6 weeks and getting excited about it. We have a landscaper friend coming to help with the garden (hardscaping and *blissful sigh* a small pond) so we can have a nice backdrop because Eric's dad, Pastor Karl, is going to marry us in our back yard. I'm not sure how many guests we can have, I'm going to measure the spots we can have chairs tonight to see if it will work out so we can invite everyone we'd like to.

The garden is doing OK except NOTHING IS RIPENING!!! I shouldn't say that, all the cool season veggies did well. But the tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers are really struggling. I have HUNDREDS of green tomatoes that simply will not ripen unless the temps start to get warmer. The 10 day forecast is looking more promising, though, so I'll keep my fingers crossed and continue planting seeds for the fall crops or beets, lettuce, kale, kohlrabi and a few other things.

My mom had her tongue looked at by the surgeon who performed her cancer removal surgery 6 years ago and she does indeed have some cancerous growth again. They don't know much about it right now, but they are going to biopsy on the 12th and then decide while she's under how much to take. She only has half her tongue anyway, so I am praying they won't have to take off the rest. I know she is really scared, so please keep her and the rest of us in your prayers.

We are all doing really well and hoping trying to create some quiet time to enjoy this last bit of summer. I had such a relaxing, fun summer last year and this year hasn't really felt like that and I'm searching for ways to eliminate stress and create more opportunities for peace for us.
Hugs,
Ellen
