*BANG!* 4th *CRACK!* of *POW!* July *BOOM!!*

The above 2 pictures are views from my home-garden.

This is part of the market-garden on the farm. Not a good view of the 350 tomato plants but oh well.

This picture of Eric and Leo is one of my favorites - this is just how we roll as a family, now.
Aside from Eric's job still being intermittent and continuing delays from the FAA, things have been going really well for us lately. We are spending a lot of time on the farm working and Eric being down there with me has been so helpful. Perhaps this is the universe's way of giving me the help I need down there while things really get going and we figure out how we're going to do our crops this year, who knows? I'll post some pics and I'll get some video to post next week, but things are coming along really nicely and I'm so excited about selling at the Farmer's Market. Next year we'll have to have a lot more early season stuff so we can be there already by this time, but otherwise I'm really encouraged. I'm pretty sure now that we will also do a limited CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) so that the dozen of more people who have asked me about it can just pay at the beginning of the season and then we deliver approximately 1/2 bushel of produce each week from June 15-Oct 15.

We are still feeling really happy with all the time we got to spend with Matt, Brigid, and their kids when they were back here and hope maybe to try to get out there sometime this year to see their new arrival, coming in August. I am also trying to orchestrate a couple days at the Oshkosh Airshow for the 3 of us, but that's expensive and tricky.

Leo is doing really well and growing up so fast. We are still in the process of getting a different daycare situation finalized and hope it will all be settled in another 2 weeks. His latest things? He's decided after spending time with his cousins that he wants a sister or brother and while we can't accommodate that quite yet, it's on the horizon. The thought of that makes me very happy. He has a new DVD from the library that he LOVES called Mighty Machines: Trains, Buses and Subways. I admit, it's actually pretty interesting and has some cool footage about how they replace the tracks for trains, which we like to watch.

I made the fireworks noise in the title of this because by the time the 4th came around I around, I was sick of it. Not to be a party-pooper or anything, but our neighborhood is right above Harriet Island so The Taste of MN, whatever butt-rock bands play there (this year featuring Brett Micheals, formerly of Poison), and the accompanying nightly display of fireworks gets to be a bit much by the end of it. Maybe I would like it more if I was inclined to do phychotropic drugs, but honestly, I think we might try to go out of town next year for those 3 days because it just got to be old. On the good side, my sister and her beau parked at our place and walked down, bringing me still warm mini-donuts when they came back. Now that and perhaps fried cheese curds might be enough to change my mind next year.
warm thoughts...
