Sad news and a tough day

We got some bad news today I'm trying not to focus on right now. My boy dog Mojo was diagnosed with lymphoma yesterday. He has a tumor for sure in his right eye that has blinded him and maybe more than that one but we don't know for sure. I have an appointment with oncology at the U of M Veternary College and they'll do some testing. He's such a good dog, friendly and sweet, wants to please and play and be a good companion and watch over Leo and all of us and he's only 6. So I'm feeling pretty sad right now and hoping there's something we can do within reason. Obviously we can't spend thousands of dollars on him, but if they discover there is just this one tumor, chemotherapy might be able to shrink it and he'll even gain his vision back in that eye. So we find out more on monday afternoon. He means a great deal to me and the mold of a good dog was broke when he was made; he's one of a kind and such a great temprement and example of what collies are all about.

I stayed home with Leo today, he woke up with a fever and slept most of the day away. I hope he is better tomorrow, but Eric will stay home with him tomorrow and hopefully he'll be able to go back to daycare Friday and Eric and I can both go back to work.
The weekend was really good. Saturday a skydiving friend from the way back stopped out to the dz and I went out there to see him and make a jump in the evening. Fitzie was a good friend of the late Erich Wagar and ours and his wife is a lovely lady I liked very much and they now have a baby we are looking forward to meeting. I didn't have anyone to jump with so I just was going to make a hop n pop to get some wind in my face, but Eric gone on the load at the last minute with me. We exited the plane together and had a fun couple seconds before break-off. It was very fun for me, especially since that was the first jump I've made with him all season. It's hard when he's always working out there and can't really make fun jumps with me; I miss my jumping buddy. So that made my weekend.
Then Tuesday my sister, Leo and I went out to Hutch to visit my dad and his friend Dorothy. Sis and Dad and I rode around the airport on motorcycles, in the ditches, out to the beacon and windsock and all around like a little gang of hoodlums. It was really fun. I flew for a little while, too, so I'm really glad about that. I made some great landings and only one hard one, and we could even still use the airplane after. A good landing is any one you walk away from, but a great landing is one you can use the airplane again after. ;)
smiles to all...
