It's Leo's 3rd birthday today. 3 years ago right now I was hanging out with Eric and my doula, Gretchen, and wondering how much longer it would take to have our baby. I didn't deliver Leo until 6:30 that saturday evening and honestly my first thoughts after all the hubbub was over was that I was starving and so relieved not to have another person inside me. Leo was beautiful and quiet, nursedd right away without difficulty, and we ate a large pizza piled with toppings. It was delicious and surely the best pizza of all time. I remember that when we left the hospital, Eric askedd me if we could keep our hospital bracelets on for awhile longer because he loved that it proclaimedd him "FATHER".

It's been quite a learning experiance, being parents, and a wild ride full of all the usual things we couldn't possibly prepare for. But wee have bonded as a family
and thank the universe in our prayers that we are learning how to do this together.
