Hello to everyone,
I wanted to make a post about the day of Leo's birthday (the 21st) even though he will be having a party with family & friends Sunday. Anyhoo, we picked him up early from daycare and went down to Hidden Falls Park on the Mississippi River to enjoy a nice fall day.
We played down there for awhile and plunked rocks in the river and climbed the beautiful cottonwood trees with their roots exposed for an hour or so.
Then we went to Buca for dinner since Leo loves the noodles. He was pretty fascinated with the wineglass, so
All in all, our little one had a great time and went home to bath and bed with visions of sugar plums dancing in his head. I just want to say that this birthday seemed to affect me more and had me reflecting back to what we were doing two years ago at this time: excruciating pain, courage I never thought I had, and joy when it was all over mixed with a profound sense of relief. Little did I know that the more difficult time was still ahead with a newborn, but it was a special day for us and it doesn't matter how many children we have, Leo will always be special because he was the one who made us parents and changed our lives forever.
blessings,
Ellen
